Today, I was asked, "Is everything you do sensual?" As I was running my fingers of the silk of my dress. I looked up, feeling a little caught, pulled from my reverie. "Yes." I beamed, because it's true. It's something I love about myself. All of my senses are higher than most. I will pause a walk to fill my lungs with the fragrance of flowers in the air or the brine of the sea. I close my eyes to taste the nuance of ingredients in a meal and I love to try to guess which herbs were used. And every brush of fingertips across my skin is a symphony of experience.

It is my modus raison d'être. I crave novelty, though I also need to balance that desire with comfort. I want to check out a band I've never heard of with a someone familiar on my arm. I want to taste a new dish at a beloved restaurant. I want to dive into a new experience, feel it fully, be totally present, and then go home and cuddle my dog and watch reruns of sitcoms.
One of my favorite new experiences is meeting new people. To hear their different laughs for the first time; a little chuckle, a surprised belly laugh. To experience the first touch, the first electric spark, the first moment you know something is about to happen.
